In keeping with horror movies...
Has anyone seen "Saw"? Faint of heart, easily pukeable, turn away now. This isn't pretty.
Movie Trailer
What a fucked up movie!!! No, it's not going to win any academy awards, but this is one of the most sick, yet fascinating, movies I've seen in a long long time. I loved it. I don't know if this makes me sick and twisted, but I'm a horror movie nut.
One of my first thoughts after seeing this was "Shit, even Stephen King couldn't have thunk up something this twisted!"
For those of you who don't know the, and I use this term loosely, storyline...
(spoilers below, so don't read it if you want to see this)
There is a wicked, evil man who likes to test people he finds weak, or, in his mind, in need of help. It begins with two guys, a doctor and a photographer, who wake up in a dark, dingy, disgusting old warehouse type place, both handcuffed to cast iron pipes and not knowing what's going on and how they got there. Oh, and there's a guy in the middle of the floor with his brains blown to bits, obviously dead, lying in a huge pool of his own blood.
There's a lot of flashbacks to their kidnapper's past deeds, such as kidnapping a guy who had previously tried unsuccessfully to kill himself by slitting his wrists. He put the guy in a fenced in 'cage' with a billion yards of razor wire twirled througout every square foot, designed sort of like an obstacle course. It was a test, to see if the guy REALLY wanted to kill himself or if he wanted to live. All he had to do was either stay where he was, and die, or make his way through the razor-wire to the other end of the cage, to the door he could walk freely out through. Let's just say there was a lot of bleeding goin on.
Then, this lady wakes up in another dingy basement warehousey place, tied to a chair with this metal contraption on her head, something like a wild animal trap. She was a drug addict who liked needles. She had a time limit - had to get untied from the chair and find the key to the contraption on her head to unlock it before it snapped open and sent her upper and lower jaws into places they surely shouldn't be. The catch is, the key is in the stomach of the guy laying dead in the same room. Gross, you say! Yes, it was!! She manages to free herself and get over to where the dead guy is. There's a knife on the floor. She's freaking the fuck out, as you might imagine. But, she's scared shitless - she was given a demonstration on video of what the contraption on her head will do to her if she runs out of time. So, she gets the knife and is ready to dig in, and then...... THE GUY WAKES UP!!! He's pumped with drugs so he's alive, awake, but cannot move. Fuck em, she says. She stabs and stabs and stabs and then grabs some guts and throws them every which way across the room, looking for that key. Thankfully, she finds it and unlocks the device, right on cue about 2 seconds before it snaps. She makes it out alive.
As the cops chasing this guy point out..... this guy actually isn't a murderer. He technically never killed anyone, he gets them to kill themselves.... or others...
The two guys in the room and the story surrounding them is more complex, so I won't go into all that, but it's more of the same - wicked, twisted shit.
If you're into horror flics, you've gotta see this one.
