Alternative Medicine.......... for pets?!?
.
I'm the biggest animal lover out there. Really, I am.
During my recent trip home to visit my parents in Philly, we went to my sister's house in Delaware for lunch. She has two greyhounds, which she adopted or rescued after their 'careers' at the track. Really cute, kinda skiddish.... dogs.
My sister, it seems, is always sick or always has some debilitating affliction. I don't know if it's just her being a hypochondriac, or if these are legitimate things wrong with her. But, regardless, it's always something. The reason I question the validity of her health problems claims is that......... her dogs, two rabbits and parrot, coincidentally, all seem to suffer similar chronic afflictions. She takes the dogs to a chiropractor and acupuncturist.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???
If I flip through channels, come across Animal Planet and see a new episode of Pet Psychic featuring my sister Valerie I'm truly gonna have a hissy, right then and there. If you've ever seen one of my hissies......... look out, because it's not pretty.
Does this crap actually help the animals, or are they just praying on the FUCKING STUPID people (no offense sis, really :op) who insist their pets are troubled, either mentally or physically, and will stop at nothing to fix these problems and restore tranquility and harmony to the pets' lives?
I did a little looking around, and found a few sites that offer information on such topics:
Homeopathy -
http://www.alternativevet.org/homeopathy.htm
Acupuncture -
http://www.alternativevet.org/acupuncture.htm
Moxibustion - (bet you haven't heard of this one)
http://www.alternativevet.org/moxibustion.htm
Aromatherapy - (for pets? who knew?)
http://www.alternativevet.org/aromatherapy.htm
Magnet therapy -
http://www.alternativevet.org/magnet_therapy.htm
Chiropractic -
http://www.alternativevet.org/chiropractic.htm
Crystals

Shit, I think I need to meditate on this one.
