Love at first sight

I've never been a little dog person. Never. Growing up, my parents had a Pekingese named "Princess." Cute and everything, but just not my type of dog. When Princess died, they eventually got a black lab/cocker spaniel mix named "Brandy." He was awesome, I miss that guy. Then, after I had grown up and moved out of their house, they got another Pekingese, a male, of course named "Prince." Not a nice dog at all - if you make a wrong move he'll rip your face off.

I always wanted a Golden Retriever, Lab or some big furry cute dog. Unfortunately, at 37 (well I'm 36 for another 16 days) I'm still an apartment dweller and haven't been able to get that 'dog of my dreams' as of yet. So, I live vicariously through other people and their dogs.

My sister and I (two years younger) are both big animal lovers - she has 2 greyhounds, a parrot and a couple bunnies. I just have a cat now, but that's going to change as soon as I can. If I had my way, I'd have 10 cats, 10 dogs and an assortment of other animals. My dream is to live on a big farm and have tons of animals.

Neither I nor my sister have kids. I don't know if my parents are happy about that or not. But, alas, too fucking bad. I love babies, just other people's babies. Maybe if "Mr. Right" and I were to ever want a baby, I'd feel differently.

Anyway...... I work in a great law office. Both partners have dogs and bring then to the office all the time. The cutie in the picture is Mochi, he's partner B's doggie. He's almost a year and a half old, and he's been coming to the office since he was just a few months old. He's awesome, I absolutely love him to death. It makes me want one of my own. It makes the office truly to joy to come to every day, despite being crazy busy and JP having to leave. There's no feeling that I've experienced (non-sexual, mind you :op) that's better than holding him in my arms.

My boss, we'll call him partner A, has a Burnese Mountain Dog named "Gen." Absolutely gorgeous dog -I don't have a pic of her handy but she looks something like this:
